The Memorandum of Association of Gobind Bhawan Karyalaya, registered at 151 Mahatma Gandhi Road, Calcutta, sets out the formal objects for which the society was established. These objects establish beyond any doubt that this is a charitable, not a commercial, institution.

The Non-Distribution Clause

The Memorandum of Association explicitly states: "The income and property of the Society whencesoever derived shall be applied solely towards the attainment of its objects as set forth in this Memorandum of Association, and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividend, bonus, or otherwise howsoever to any member or officer of the Society."

This clause, standard in charitable registrations, legally prohibits any commercial distribution of income, confirming the purely charitable nature of the institution.
