Ayurveda as an Act of
Charitable Devotion

Sethji was himself a devoted practitioner of Ayurveda, India's 5,000-year-old system of holistic medicine. He believed that access to pure, authentic Ayurvedic treatment should not be determined by wealth. The Gita Bhawan Ayurveda Sansthan was established to fulfill this belief.

The manufacturing facility was relocated to Sidkul, Haridwar, at the foot of the Himalayas, to ensure the freshest possible Himalayan herbs (jadi-butiyan) and access to Gangajal. Pure, traditionally prepared medicines are produced here and distributed free of charge at five clinics across India.

The five free clinics currently operate in Swargashram (Rishikesh), Gorakhpur, Churu, Kolkata, and Surat. At each location, Ayurvedic doctors give their time as seva. No consultation fee is charged. No medicine fee is charged. The poor receive the same treatment as anyone else.

This is healthcare as dharma, a sacred obligation to care for God's creation, regardless of their economic circumstances. In cities where quality Ayurvedic treatment is increasingly expensive, these free clinics provide a lifeline for those who cannot afford commercial healthcare.
