The society "Gobind Bhawan Karyalaya" is formally registered in Kolkata, the city from which Sethji operated his business and from which the very first Gita was printed. The Kolkata connection runs deep in the history of this institution.

The original Gobind Bhawan Karyalaya operated at No. 30, Banstolla Gulley, Calcutta. The current registered office is at 151, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Burra Bazar, Kolkata 700007, in the heart of the Marwari merchant community that has always been the bedrock of support for this institution.

The society is registered under the West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961 (Societies Registration Act), with registration number 5960/7. It is also registered on the NGO Darpan portal of the Government of India, and holds valid Income Tax exemption registration under Section 12AB of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

The Kolkata office also operates a free Ayurvedic clinic, one of five such clinics run by the trust across India, continuing the mission of free healthcare for the poor in West Bengal's capital.
